Designing Pinterest's "Home of the Future" Pop-Up
Designing Pinterest's "Home of the Future" Pop-Up

Designing this experience has been a mult-year journey that started when a Pinterest employee came to Marketplace of the Future in 2022. I've been nurturing this relationship ever since.
Early 2025 Pinterest shared their goals for Climate Week NYC in September:
Promote the "Pinterest Predicts" trends. Specifically "Terra Futura" which was entirely focused on green living.
Show how Pinterest inspiration can manifest into an IRL sustainability experience through the lens of the "Home of the Future"
Engage event attendees with a hands-on arts and crafts section

My design process included:
Incorporating Terra Futura style visuals throughout the entire MOTF experience
Demystify the sources of emissions within the context of the home. Identify the solutions and curate organizations creating those solutions.
Nest the organizations within the "Home of the Future" zone with a master info display.
Recruiting a local regenerative farmer to host a wreath-making station that was decorated with custom-made Pinterest collage posters.
I recruited, oriented, and set up the following organizations for the "Home of the Future": Brooklyn Solar Works, Copper Home, One Clear Drop, Gradient Comfort, GroupHug Solar, BioLite Energy.
In addition, to Terra Futura and Home of the Future, we hosted Pinterest's Head of Sustainability, Mia Kettering on a panel about climate optimism with world-renowned cartoonist, Tom Toro; an editor from Imagine5 magazine; and author of Climate Optimism, Anne-Therese Gennari.
